"Heart to Heart - Going Deeper"

Last offered in November 2016, this infrequent opportunity is designed for couples who are willing to create short presentations and share parts of their personal stories in the safe space of a structured 'talking circle' format.   Note - Group discussion is unique to our Going Deeper program and registration is limited to 7 couples.

A Couples' Enrichment Weekend Retreat

Guidelines for Registration & Waiting List

Information on this page applies only to the upcoming
"Going Deeper" retreat in Minnesota
shown at far left

Also See:   Waiting List Status

Spaces are assigned first to couples whose completed registration forms and payments we have actually received.  After a weekend fills, we will maintain a waiting list for use in case of last-minute cancellations.
          FAQ: Is space available?
When dates for a future "Going Deeper" retreat have been announced, we will provide a clickable link at left side of this page.  Or, contact us by phone or e-mail.

If the weekend cost is too high and would prevent your being able to join us, please contact the leaders of the Upcoming Retreat you want to attend.  Thanks to the generosity of previous participants, limited financial assistance is available.

We ask all couples who request assistance to: (1) think hard about what they can afford, and (2) make a significant investment in this experience -- then to propose and explain that on the registration form, or in a letter.  For 20+ years we've been able to help everyone who has asked.  (Not always as much as requested, but always something.)

A month or so before the retreat we allocate available funds to those who have asked for this helpful help.  If you request assistance, please ask early.  Reserve a space by sending your deposit (almost always $100) along with your registration.

Rarely, but more often than we like, hard feelings arise over who gets to be registered and/or closest to the top of the waiting list.  For example, if "John" telephones to say that his payment will be put into the mail, but an hour later "Alice" hand-delivers her payment, we face the question of who registered first.

In an attempt to be fair to everyone, you will be registered or placed on our waiting list in the order that we actually receive your registration form and payment.

After your information and check arrive, we will contact you by e-mail to confirm whether you have a space at the retreat, or on the waiting list.

If we receive your registration form and payment after all spaces have been filled, we will hold your check, add your names to our waiting list, and notify you of your wait-list status.  You may withdraw from the waiting list at any time by asking us to void (or return) your deposit check.  If you decide to stay on the waiting list, please provide as many up-to-date e-mail addresses and telephone numbers as you can.  Your check will not be cashed unless a weekend team leader contacts you and confirms that you will attend.

Occasionally, registered couples need to cancel - mostly they do so a month or more before the retreat; a rare few have called us a day or two before.  If you cancel more than five weeks ahead, your payment will be refunded.  However, because of our retreat center contract obligations, if you cancel less than five weeks before the retreat, we cannot refund your payment unless an alternate couple is found to fill the unexpected space.

For those on the waiting list, we do recognize that last-moment changes can be impossible to implement.  For a few couples, a day or two would be enough time to make plans before attending the retreat.  For many, two weeks would be too little.

If you are at the top of the waiting list, we will try to contact you.  If fewer than three weeks remain before the retreat and we are not able to talk to you when we call, we will contact the next couple on the list.

We will ask for your immediate "yes" or "no."

If you say "Yes," we will cash your check and see you at the retreat.

If you say "Maybe," or "We aren't sure," or "Can you wait for our answer?" please understand our need to call the next couple on the list so that the canceling couple has a better chance to receive a refund.

If you say "No," or if we do not contact you and confirm that you will attend, your payment will be returned to you.
